Ordinary Pleasures

This week’s installment of ordinary pleasures in which I share things I’ve discovered over the past week that I am loving right now, that make me smile, or bring me laughter and are too good not to share. Whether it be on or off the bike.

  1. Groadio Podcast, Episode 56, Anna Yamauchi
    • A post on Instagram caught my attention to this podcast. This is actually the first episode I’ve listened to of Groadio. But after Anna Yamauchi’s win at Rock Cobbler and second place finish at BWR Arizona, I wanted to learn more about her as one of the new and upcoming racers hitting the scene and a participant of the Life Time Grand Prix this year. Immediately a fan and I will be following and cheering her on throughout this season. Can’t wait to see how it plays out for her.
  2. Maurten Solid C 225 Bars
    • I got a sample pack of these bars from The Feed, in my last order. OMG they are soooooo good. I use Maurten gels for racing fuel and never thought to try the bars. But I’ll be buying a box of these to stock up. Perfect pre-ride nutrition.
  3. Trader Joes 20 Stem Tulips (see photo below)
    • I absolutely love warming up the house with fresh flowers. I’ve recently been buying flowers at Trader Joes and have discovered their fresh flowers last a remarkably long time. These tulips are my recent bouquet find and I’m loving them!
  4. Downward Dog App
    • This is one of my favorite recovery hacks. I’m a huge fan of restorative yoga for recovery. This app makes you feel like you are in a real yoga class. The best part is you can select the amount of minutes you want to practice anywhere from 4 minutes to 60 minutes. In addition you can pick the body part you want to focus on i.e. hamstring stretches, hip flexor stretches, quad stretches, etc.
  5. 20 minute Korean Beef Sesame Noodles, by Half Baked Harvest.
    • Easy, fast, gluten free, and loaded with veggies. Half Baked Harvest is my go to for new recipes and this one is a staple in my recipe box.
